Title: Kitchen Corner Bench Plans
Post by: SteveJ34 on June 14, 2006, 02:59:44 am
I need to come up with a different kitchen table dining that will accomodate 7 people.

I had to overtake the dining room years ago as my home office and am now in the process of combining household with fiance. Together we have 5 kids, 3 mine, 2 hers.

While I am no master craftsman, I am pretty handy but it would help if I had something to model after or a set of plans.

Most of the units I have found online are not quite what I need....I would like to create a bench area that will seat 2 on on side and 3 on the other. With this setup I figure we can fit 2 chairs opposite the 3 person side and have it all fit within the space constraints we are working with.

Attached are a couple of pics of what I am talking about. I've been searching for some type of "bench plans" but have not really found anything to speak of.

Thanks for any input others may be able to provide.

Thanks for the assist.

I had been through some of these but will dig deeper.

I'm beginning to think I might just have to get some basic dimensions and wing the rest of it.

Look for a basic trestle table.  You should be able to fit 3 on each side, and 2 on the ends.  It isn't something that will sit in a corner, but you guys could move it.  I know it's a PITA to keep doing that, but it fits your needs perfectly, and is fairly open underneath (usually) and should be able to store the chairs nice and close, mebbe even make a bench for both sides.

Thanks, Drew.

I hadn't consider that type of layout. I'll do some googling and see what it might turn up.
