Title: Finally found an on-line (Wilsonart) laminate supplier
Post by: fiscap on June 12, 2006, 04:35:50 pm
I've been searching for an on-line laminate supplier (in particular Wilsonart) for quite some time now. I found a place in Deerfield Beach, FL called cabinetparts.com (http://www.cabinetparts.com/).

I just placed an order for (5) 4x8 sheets of vertical-grade Wilsonart laminate and it worked out to be about $1.22/sf before shipping costs. The nice thing about these guys is that they extend a 15% volume discount on Wilsonart and you need only buy more than one sheet to qualify for the discount.

I'll update this post after I receive my order and let you all know if it arrives in tact.

Nice find!

Where are you and how much was shipping?

I'm in New Hampshire and UPS ground shipping ended up being about $40 for the five sheets - not too bad when you consider it's being delivered to your door.

That is a great find, thanks.  The cheapest I have found WilsonArt or Formica locally is about 2.00 per sq foot.  I need to check out the total price with shipping and see if it is cheaper.

Edit:  Nice that you can get the discount on 2 sheets of black, but even with the 15% discount, the 55 dollars shipping sends it over what I can get it for locally.

Hopefully it works out for you though, I can't wait to hear.

I received my laminate order today from cabinetparts.com (http://www.cabinetparts.com). The Lapis Blue I had ordered was on back-order and they anticipated having it in the warehouse on June 17th, but I received an update from them stating that the entire order shipped on the 15th. In all, it took only three business days to arrive from south Florida using ground shipping - it came directly from the Wilsonart warehouse in Miami.

There was a small dent in the box, but the laminate was packed very well and arrived unscathed.

All in all I am very happy with their service and product - this is the easy way to carry five sheets of laminate by yourself. :)

If you don't mind my asking, what grade of WilsonArt black laminate did you go with; 1595-60 (matte), 1595-90 (crystal) or another?

Thanks
Breaker.

I went with the 1595-60 335 (matte) laminate. The 60 has a slight gloss to it, but it's not super reflective. The 335 is also a vertical-grade postforming laminate - it's about 1/2 as thick (0.028") as the normal 107 (0.048") stuff.

Hmm, I kept thinking that laminate is way too expensive...but after seeing this and then adding up all the money I spent on paint, primer, foam rollers, etc. ... I kinda wished I had gone with laminate. What a great find!  :applaud:

I likewise have had great experiences ordering from cabinetparts.  Three days to my door is the usual.  Their packaging is first-rate in my book.  Great prices, great service.  What I did find is you need to order at least three sheets to offset the shipping.

Just to add to the praise for cabinetparts, I've ordered from them twice, and had great experiences twice. On the more expensive sheets it was cheaper to have it shipped from Florida to San Diego than it was to order it locally (for one 5x12 sheet)
