Let me start by saying that I am not a computer wiz but I am not dumb. I have spent much money on building a three sided cocktail cab and so far have spared no expense. In fact, when it is done it should be the best three sidded cocktail cab seen on this site so far. But only because I have improved on designes that others better than me created. If I knew how to use my wife's digital camera properly I could show you what I am talking about. At the same time I want to keep it a secrect untill I am real close to being done. Lets say I started with the foundation of the GREAT WHAMMOCADE. This set up set the marker for cocktail tables.
I have recently come into some finacial troubles that could delay me for a year or so.
But I could overcome this by not getting a betson 27" multisync and insted buying a dotronix DSV27 from Groovygamegear. I plan on using ether unit with a arcadeVGA card but am not real clear on limitations. Sure, I have read the Ultimarc web site on this but, I would like to hear from those who have attemted this or have a serious opinion regarding this. I am willing to skip PC gaming to get my system up and running.
Let me add one more thing. I have spent a year and a half researching and building this cabinet. I have an inlaw family of retired West Point Professors of nuclear weaponry ask me about how its going with my arcade project. Even my motherinlaw has a PhD. Talk about pressure. I have a brother-in-law of the same age with a PhD who said I could never finish. Not a holiday goes by without question. If I dont finish with flying colors I will be (in their eyes) just another flake. This I am not. I am a licened general contractor in CA and have built several custom homes by the age of 35.
Enough with this background stuff. I need advice. My inlaws like Golden Tee. Will It work resonable well with a Dotronix DSV27. Or, is a Betson multisync then only way to go?

Wow! I cant believe how long my original post was. I drank a lot of beer and wrote it. Just goes to show you. DONT DRINK AND TYPE! (at least not after a 12 pack)
Regardless, I did talk to a Betson rep. on the phone last week and he said he would sell me one for 399.99. Its a 3 1/2 hour drive to San Francisco. Or I could have it shipped, but after taxes and shipping its getting close to $500. And I just read so many people having trouble with multi sync monitors.
Am I really going to get that much more out of a multi sync compared to a monitor with a RGB input. I don't play PC games really. I use a PS2 and Xbox for most modern gaming.
HMMMM.... if I don't have a multi sync monitor then I wont have the most kick but cab. Maybe I could just replace the monitor after I finish my masters next year and get a job. But then I would have to live in the shadows of other cab builders. I would have to forgo my quest for greatness. That would be a drag.
Is a multi sync really that much better if one doesn't want to play PC games?

I do not play pc games on mine, I have bought both WG9200's and one Betson Monitor they are as good as each other. The only thing extra the Betson has is it supports 600x800 however th WG9200 will also run in this mode.
