Hi All,
This has probably been discussed millions of times, but I can't seem to find a post about it. I was thinking that it would be nice to know if there are other Arcade machine hobbyists near where I live. It might be nice to try and arrange a get together to commpare our cabinets and control panels. I live in southern NY and it seems that nobody in my vicinity is into this hobby. It would be great if BYOAC had a database that people could put their info into and use to search for others near them! I know that in this day and age, people can be hesitant to give away their addresses, but you could just provide your zip code and that would probably suffice for finding like minded people that are near you. Thoughts???

Sure it will. It's a worldwide map.
Oh, and you don't have to post your location in this thread, but it's encouraged to put your mark on the map.

The map doesn't show every single pin, either. You have to zoom in on an area to get all the pins to show.

I guess I should be more specific with my location. I live in Goshen NY, in Orange County.
-
looks like I'm the only one from San Antonio on the map :(

Nice, I was born in Goshen. Good to see people in the old home area are building arcade machines.

I added myself to the map. I'm in Colorado, just south of Denver.
No one near me, not even when I zoom in. :(

Greenwood Lake, NY here, just a stones throw from Goshen, NY

Poughkeepsie here, seems there are a couple people close by, I wouldn't have guessed. I'm up near Lake Placid just for the summer though.

Ften & Amerish, I lived in Warwick from 1972 - 1994, then moved about a bit (Harriman, Tuxedo, Monroe, Bronx, Thornwood, Mahopac.) Then last year I moved to Goshen to be closer to the grandparents. Ften, Sounds like you are no longer in the area though. Maybe if I get motivated I'll submit my cabinet into the BYOAC databse. It's only been 95% done for 2 years. . .
-
Of course there would be a bunch of you guys in the area I USED to live in. I lived in Monticello (actually, Kiamesha) from 92-97.
-
Peale,
My younger brother started teaching two years ago at Monticello High School. I've heard of Lake Kiamesha before but didn't know where it was located. So far "a bunch of you guys" = 3 if you include Cutty, but I have to tell you that Poughkeepsie is no easy trip from Goshen. Given the crazy traffic on Route 9, I could probably get to NYC before I get to Po Town!

Route 9 is bad coming off one of the bridges, I live about a stone's throw from the road. It's getting worse though as more people move into the area

Well, you US guys should stop complaining......There's only 3 of us on mainland Europe and one is M3telhead who has moved to Guam I believe....
By the way, you find me near Rotterdam, Holland (Andre Huijts is my real name).
Will be in the US (Massachussets, Drury and Boston) end of august, beginning september. Would be ultra-cool to meet other BYOACers in the "hood"....
