Post by: Seven7 on June 06, 2006, 10:22:53 pm
Ok, not really related to arcade controlls, but hardware related so....

Just wandering if anyone knows of a schematic or something similar to allow me to build a basic watch that displays internet time (@.beat).

searched google and yahoo, nothing yet.

for info on internet time, go to the swatch website, dont know it off the top of my head.

It would be easy to construct with and AVR or PIC and an RTC chip.  Don't know of any schematics and building something that you could wear on your wrist complicates the matter.  You could also easily write a program for a Palm Pilot to calculate Internet time.  There are also website that you could link to with a cell phone.
I started building a VLF clock but it's on the back burner.  I guess if I ever finish it, I could add Internet time, although it seems like a marketing gimmick by Swatch that will probably disappear.  I think UTC is preferred.
