I have a DK3 machine, it was working perfectly. I put a DK jR board in the machine, and the screen kept slowly rolling to the right. I turned the horizontal hold a tiny bit and the picture stabilized. But when i shut the machine off and turn it back on, the picture moves so it is off center (there is a black bar in the middle, picture on left and right. I can adjust it back to center, but every time i shut it off, it is split again. When i put the DK3 board back in, it does the same thing now. The adjustment on the H Hold is so fine, i have to just barely hit the spot to make it stop rolling, i dont understand why i have to set it every time now, anybody know why? The monitor has a beautiful picture with no problems at all, and was fine before, all i did was barely touch the H hold, now it wont stay put!

Monitor needs a capkit now!

Ken,
thanks for the reply, i dont understand how a cap kit will fix the H hold. I am sure you are correct, however i would like to understand it better. To look at the picture on the monitor, you would think it was new.

Capacitors have dried out internally and are no longer stabile. Remember that your monitor is at least old enough to vote! Electrolytic capacitors do NOT get better with age. Do a full capkit on that monitor.

ok, i just ordered the kit. thanks Ken. PS - does anyone know a good user group for pinball machines?

The pinball newsgroup is rec.games.pinball
