Title: New ACT Labs gun with MAME32 on a TV with S-Video input?
Post by: Pasqualz on June 05, 2006, 12:45:43 pm
Hi All,

Sorry for the extra long subject, but it is a very specific questions! I use MAME32 (v 105) running on my PC in my cabinet. The PC sends video out through my ATI video card's S-Video out port, to the S-Video in port of my 27" JVC TV. I'm assuming that I should use the ACT Labs TV Out version of their light gun, but just wanted to be sure this is correct. Anyone tried their guns with the same or similar setup as i have? How does it work????

Thanks!

If your 27" JVC TV is a CRT TV (not LCD), you are correct. You must use the ActLabs TV Out version. But this lightgun will not work if you use a CRT Monitor, and viceversa.

If your 27" JVC is a LCD TV, you must use the EMS LCDTopGun.

The TV is a CRT. I was hoping that someoen had tried this lightgun with a similar setup before I fork over $80 for the gun. Guns n MAME seem to be an iffy proposition at best. . .
