Is it possible to connect two usb joysticks to mame? I have a pc with 2 open usb ports and I would like to have the ability to switch from my cab control panel to two players using joysticks. I hope to connect my two playstation controllers to my usb ports with two PSX--USB converters I bought online. I'm waiting for them to be delivered, but in my haste I never considered that I might not be able to connect 2 for player 1 and player 2......
This is for a cocktail cab I'm refinishing and I want to be able to use the joysticks when playing 2-player games like metal slug (simultaneous 2 player play).
Any help or input is appreciated. Thanks.

I heard that in many cases, two USB joysticks will work. However, some USB joystick models will not allow two at once.
Also, you need to use WinMAME or MAME32 running under Win98 or higher to use USB devices.

I have the cheapest 4 port USB hub money can buy, and four of the cheapest USB gamepads I could find and have had no problem what-so-ever getting them all connected and working in mame.
This stuff is so cheap if doesn't even have a brand name - I guess even the back alley tiwanese factory / opium den that produced them didn't want to be assocated with such poor quality stuff. And yet there they are, working perfectly since the day I bought them.
So yes, it is very possible to have 2 USB devices in mame, I guess it depends largely on the manufacturer (or crack dealer) that made them.
Having said that...
My PC has 2 USB ports built into the motherboard - If I plug said cheap-arse controllers into the onboard ports I can only get one to work no matter how much I swear at it. For me an external USB hub makes all the difference.

Just wanted to let anyone know that the PSX-USB converters worked with both PSX Controllers plugged into my 2 USB ports right out of the box. I plugged them in, loaded the supplied driver and ran MAME. It worked perfectly out of the box!
