I bought a 1" square tube piece of steel, a 12x16 sheet of 18 gauge metal, and a 1/4"x2"x24" piece of aluminum.  I cut the 2" strip into smaller pieces.  I dog eared them so they wouldn't hit the t.v., yet still be in line with the holes.  I drilled holes the same size as the holes on the built in brackets on the monitor.  Once I had those 2" strips the way I wanted them, I clamped them to the 1" bar where they would need to be located to fit, and drilled and bolted them to the tubing.  Once I had all four pieces secured to the two sections of tube, I just bolted them to the monitor.  After that, I added the plate on the bottom by bending the angle of the sheet, clamping it in place, and again drilling and bolting.  I guess, in summary, take your time in measuring, making sure everything fits properly, then drill away.  It is more then sturdy enough for what it is doing.
