Title: cp artwork for an x arcade stick ?
Post by: stephenp1983 on May 31, 2006, 07:49:18 pm
I am in the long process of building my first mame cab. With my limited time to work I am planning on purchasing a x arcade stick to get me by until I have the time to build my own.  I was just curious has anyone ever attempted to make an overlay to put over the x arcade control panel.  Would it even be practical.  Just curious

Hey bro, this is my first post in like years.

Anyway, it shouldn't be hard to make a cp overlay for the x-arcade. It's the same as making an overlay to any other stick. Just measure the stick and make some art. You can either lay it on top and put plexi over it or you can just laminate the art and super glue it to the top. I would prefer doing the lamination on an already completed stick because with the plexi you will have to re-measure for holes in the plexi then cut those and if you're off when you're cutting then the plexi will be uneven. Also, the height/ thickness of the plexi might conflict with the joystick, it will become shorter. Thanx.

-See Ya!!!

If you do go about doing this it would be a great help to a lot of people out there to probably let them download a template that is the layout of the x-arcade. I've been looking for a while now and can't find any dimmensions for the layout.

Good luck with it, hope it goes well.
