Not quite sure if this fits here but it is software so I thought I'd give it a go. We have a group of super controlling IT folks at our company and they scan for "software that is not in line with the companies business needs". I travel so I thought I would put Mame on a Virtual PC image and keep it on a USB drive that I don't take to work.
The question is has anybody used Mame on Virtual PC? I don't necessarily expect the sound to work but I thought I could at least while away some time on the road.

It works pretty well. I have a couple of virtual PCs running mame. I don't have them on USB stick.
One running DOS version of MAME, and another one running XP. Works great and even got the sound to work. (it was harder on the DOS VPC than the XP one).
And while I am sure that there is some performance lost I can't tell for most of the games I play.
good luck
