Title: Mamewah error to infinity
Post by: Gaston77 on May 31, 2006, 04:18:14 pm
Hi guys,

Mamewah runs fine until I exit to windows. CPU usage goes trough the roof for about a minute and then my desktop remains only 40% functional. It appears that mamewah is trapped in the same process over and over and over.
Does anybody know what the following Mamewah error message means? And more importantly; what could be a possible solution?

Excerpt of a looooong error message, but this is the moment where it goes wrong (in bold);

13-2-2002 1:09:07 Games list read: mame-0.lst
13-2-2002 1:09:08 Layout selected: D:\MAME\layouts\Classic 640x480\layout.lay
13-2-2002 1:09:08 Bad image file: D:\MAME\layouts\mamewah-art.png
13-2-2002 1:09:08 Ctrlr file selected: D:\MAME\ctrlr\default.ini
13-2-2002 1:09:13 Commandline run: CMD.EXE /c D:\mame\mamepp.exe SAMESAME -verifyroms > D:\MAME\files\verify {flags=17}
13-2-2002 1:09:13 Commandline run: D:\mame\mamepp.exe SAMESAME {flags=12}
13-2-2002 1:09:30 Mode 640 x 480 @ 200, 16bit colour not available
13-2-2002 1:09:30 Error: 5 Invalid procedure call or argument in CTRLR_FinaliseDI

And then it keeps on repeating those lines til the end of time. Any clues??

Oh, and you would think that it's the 640*480 @200 which causes the problem. Avga + D9200 cannot support this resolution anyway, right? I deleted the 640*480 @200 with refreshforce and replaced it with the standard 640*480  @60. Or should I have left the original setting in there?

Ok,
I changed some general settings in Mame and fiddled around with the resolution options in mame itself (not mamewah!) and the problem seems to have resolved itself. Mamewah now exits the way it should.

Take care
