I've got a cabinet with a Sega Dreamcast in it and two hacked gamepads. I would like to use two P360 joysticks. I can get 5v from a switching power supply, but the ground wire needs to come from the Dreamcast, right? How would I hook this up?
BTW, I know I can get 5v from the gamepad, but I am interested in how to wire power from an external power supply.

What kind of power supply is it? All you really need is just a wire coming from the RED 5V line from the power supply to go into the 5V screw terminal on the P360. You don't need a ground for the PS as well. The ground will be from the game pad itself.
The way I have my p360's wired up is I have a long wire from the power supply with a male Quick Disconnect on the end, and then I have a wire from each of the p360's that terminate into a single female quick disconnect. Plug that in, and you are good to go!

It would be a stand-alone Happ switching power supply.

Just run a lead from the +5V terminal to something like what I described earlier and you should be good to go.
