Title: MAME32 joystick question...PLEASE HELP

I purchased a MAME machine (originally from Dream Arcades) and the player1 joystick works fine on selecting games and on vertical games, but when i load a horizontal game the "down" direction doesnt work.  It works fine for player 2, but player 1 wont go down. 

Someone please help me.

Have you tried configuring the controls in mame?  It is possible that some of the settings aren't quite right.  But if your joystick works fine in other games then the joystick is fine.
