Hello everyone, besides the stock cabinet vinyl covering found at Happ and Wico, has anyone else found some colored ones? I also found a nice cherry wood vinyl at a speaker company, but it is only 2 ft wide (good for cocktails). Any other leads?

do you mean laminate? if so what about home depot?
not that you are using the term incorrectly, but when I think of vinyl, I think of the "soft"-er covering (like what eightbit has on his control panel)
could you clarify? I know 1up used yellow laminate for his pac themed rotating cab of death...

Are you talking about the indestructable stuff they cover guitar amps with? Its called Tolex and there are lots of sources for it. Here's one:

Yes, definitely looking for vinyl, not laminate. Cool stuff for the speaker coverings. Is it the peel and stick kind?
-
my marshall has not held up to gigging... but i don't think anyone will be dropping the arcade cabinet off of stage risers... ;-)
red elephant, get some purple tmolding... it would be *pimp*... or gay...
it would say something strongly

Don't forget the pink faux fur on the control panel top!!!! Oooooooo!
That would be so ridiculous it would be cool! ;)

It might be cool to build a cab to look like a Marshall JCM stack. Use the Marshall logo instead of a marquee...have a volume knob that goes to 11...brushed brass control panel...
-
That stuff looks like what I have on my Control Panel. The vinyl on my panel is not spongy like some people seem to think it is. It has very little give to it.

hmm... that does sound cool... it could double as an MP3 jukebox also...
-
You're right...it would be great for a juke box. Of course you'd have to go with four celestion 12s to be true to the concept.

heh... celestians are awesome (for guitar cabs, that is)... although i'd go with something else for general purpose jukebox speakers, the frequency response of the celestians is why they sound good for guitar - but also make them less suitable for general music amplification... (i know you were kidding - I'm just being goofy)

You're right...it would sound a little midrangy. Plus after all those years standing in front of a marshall stack I can't hear midrange anymore. Maybe some piezos and an Altec A7 would even out the sound a little better. Of course you might get a few complaints from the neighbors...
