This is my first time in here but this seems a nice place to learn about arcade machines and everything such. :)
So I have installed an IPAQ-2 and tried my best wiring skills for the joystick and four buttons. Like every 20 or 30 times that I use my joystick it does not respond once or twice. It can be a little frustating in critical times during gameplay... But is this normal? Should it work 100% or sometimes this may happen?
I have this question because I remember having the same troubles when I played in public arcade machines.

My joysticks don't "skip" with my IPAC. Have you checked to see that your terminations are good?

I am thinking that it may be the microswitches, there was a lot of improvement when I changed them last week. But they are still USED microswitches so maybe I should buy new ones.
However, is there a way to check if my IPAQ is working 100%?

I've had no issues with my ipac2 missing inputs either. You can open up windows notepad and you will be able to see it register whatever character you mapped to the button on your ipac when you actuate the switch. One thing you may want to check is the mounting of your joystick.Make sure the hole in your cp that the joystick shaft goes through is large enough so it does not limit the joystick throw and prevent the switch from being made.I had this happen to me,mine was fine untill I added my overlay and plexi. The extra thickness was just enough for the joystick to hit making switch contact a little touchy untill I opened the hole up a bit more.

Ok I just bought 4 new microswitches for the joystick and it got worse! 80% of the time the right side switch skips, and the other sides 50% of the time. What the hell is going on? I am not sure if I am liking this IPAC-2...
