Hopefully someone here will have some suggestions. I have a recently purchase Happs Vision Pro 27" monitor that died on me. I don't know how serious the problem is, the last time I turned on the arcade, the picture was just flashing up on the part of the screen for just a second and then black. This cycle repeats over and over. When Windows Professional Logo comes on I can see it for just a split second and a part of the screen turns lighter during the off periods of the flashing, repeating the flashing of picture and almost black over and over. I hear some crackling sound as the monitor heats up. I don't smell anything or see any smoke. The monitor has less than 50 hours of use so I am really distressed about how to get it repaired. I called Happs today and they do not cover shipping for it so that is about $300.00 round trip from Houston to Chicago to get it repaired, on a monitor I just paid $395 for 8 months ago. This can't be happening to me. Any ideas?

Monitors can crap out just like any other piece of electronic equipment at any time for any reason.
Look in your local Yellow Pages directory under the heading of "Amusement Devices" to see if there's a local amusement game operator or distributor that you could take your monitor to for repair.
I don't know if "TexasHotShot" on the rec.games.video.arcade.collecting newsgroup is near you, but he's in Texas and he's excellent with monitor repairs.
