I've been experimenting with persistence of vision. I though it would be cool to have PacMan or Space Invaders animated on my spinning bike spokes. Here is a shot of my first prototype test that was also the last. I guess I need a better mounting system because the PCB flew off the wheel with enough force to rip the chips out of their sockets. Miraculously, in a room with lots of windows and glass everywhere, no one and nothing was harmed except the prototype. I guess I should have taken some picutures before the test.

Sounds like you should have taken pictures during the test to me.

You just have to stay within the speed limit...

A home video of the AAA batteries flying out at warp speed in every direction would have been hysterical. I guess I need to get a tripod for future tests and some Lexan to protect the camera.

Too bad about the mishap. You seem to be quite the wiz with the electronics though....yeah, I said wiz. ;)

What microprocessor are you using?
Cable ties seem to work well on the bicycle POV projects that I have seen.
Oh, and just in case you haven't seen it. http://www.ladyada.net/make/spokepov/index.html
