Title: trackball help
Post by: kiddk1 on May 20, 2006, 05:30:32 pm
I have the happs 3" trackball installed via ps/2 optiwiz, I have a ps/2 to usb adapter, the frontend recognizes the TB but not the actual games,  I have read and searched and tried some of the advice given but nothing worked.  I have the mouse set to 1 and for trackball_device I tried these options:
-trackball
mouse 1
mouse2
any help would be great, thanks  I should mention that I have a usb mouse plugged in that is used in windows.

Did you plug the PS/2 Optiwiz into the PS/2 port (no usb adapter) to confirm that works?  If so, why not plug it into the port it was made for?

yeah it works, I just thought using usb may give me more options in the future and wanted to see if it would work.  I actually got it to work in golden tee by going into the input settings for the game and setting the analog x and y to the trackball, i just hope I dont have to do this for every game.  thanks

After you hit TAB, select Input all games.  Set it once and it will be fine.

What kind of adapter are you using?  The Opti-Wiz requires only a passive (i.e. cheap, no electronics type) adapter and it will autoswitch.

It is now working, I had to set the inputs to mouse 1 and mouse 2 for all games.  this is the adapter I purchased http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=12%2D156%2D004%2D02%2Ejpg%2C12%2D156%2D004%2D03%2Ejpg&CurImage=12%2D156%2D004%2D02%2Ejpg&Description=SABRENT+USB+to+PS%2F2+%28Dual+PS%2F2%29+Converter+Adapter+Cable+Model+SBT%2DPS2U+%2D+Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=12%2D156%2D004%2D02%2Ejpg%2C12%2D156%2D004%2D03%2Ejpg&CurImage=12%2D156%2D004%2D02%2Ejpg&Description=SABRENT+USB+to+PS%2F2+%28Dual+PS%2F2%29+Converter+Adapter+Cable+Model+SBT%2DPS2U+%2D+Retail)
