Hello Everyone !
This is my first cab i cut it from 3/4" MDF it took 3 days to cut and assemble.
Have a look at the pics and let me know what you think of it.
I still need to get a bigger TV and install a bezel and glass on the TV but everything else is done.
The side picture is a oil painting my brother did of Major Motoko Kusanagi from the anime Ghost in the shell.
The coin door takes quarters but also has a button on the bottom that can be unlocked and pressed to give you quarters everytime you press it in. When im not around i can lock the button and you have to put in real quarters !!!. There is also a coin counter next to the lock that shows me how many quarters have been inserted. Below that are 2 red LEDS for hard drive & network activity.
The whole cab is on wheels so i can easily move it
I hacked in a 12 volt relay that turns everything on when you press the button and everything turns off when you press it again.

Looks sweet! You did this in only 3 days, huh? I'm jealous of the people who can do that. It's taking me close to forever.

I love the kick panel, and the coin doors look cool (if that grey color isn't just your flash) but... and don't get me wrong here, cause I like Snap On tools, but there are just too many Snap On logos! Maybe move the small ones on the front to the sides of the CP?

Hello Everyone !
It took 3 days to cut and assemble.
Like DaveMMR said, 3 days? Seriously, how? Can you give some details on how you spent your time? Did you not sleep or something? I only wish.

Paint alone on my cab took 3 days. It is a good looking piece of work. You must do woodworking for a living..

WOW!! I did mine in 3 weeks...and I thought that was pretty fast. :o
Looks great!! :applaud:

There was 4 of us working on it for about 8 hours a day.
I dont do wood working for a living, i work at a machine shop. I did all the metal work for it there.
My best friend does wood working for a living and he brought over 2 other people to help.
I say 3 days meaning cut from wood and assembled. It took another day to paint it. :)

Dost mine eyes deceive me, or is there a light-gun attached in their somewhere as well? What gun are you using, and what they heck is that hose of a wire attached to it!???!! ;)
seriously though, got any more pic's of your control panel up close, it's kinda hard to see the full layout with the ones you've got posted right now.
Though, I can't say much, I've been needing to update my cab's blog with better pic's for a while now, too. :(

i attached a close up of the control panel.
The white spots are ashes, i gotta stop smoking. or at least clean up before i take a picture LOL
The control panel overlay was provided by sasquatch @ arcade paradise. he was nice enough to let me use his design. I loved it and it had a perfect layout for what i wanted. 2 happ 360's, a 4 way, spinner and a trackball. plus it saved me a bunch of time having to designe one :)
The mass of cable coming from the light gun is a usb cable, power cable for recoil, cable for the pedal reload all wrapped up neat in a cable wrap from work :)
just makes it look nicer.
ohh yeah its a mission gun, guncon2 compatible PS/2 gun. works good. i like the recoil. I dont like re calibrating it eveyrtime someone knocks it on the floor :)

the bezel and 27" tv are coming on Saturday as well as a piece of glass to cover it all so i will post some pics once thats on as well. The little tv in there is starting to drive me nuts LOL
-
Not bad.

what can you tell me about the guns recoil action, and where can you buy them? Do you have any close ups of the gun, by chance?
What do you plan on placing in the 4th joystick spot in top right (looks empty right now?) a flight stick?
-
Impressive for only 3 days work!
Once you get that TV, bezel, and glass in there, it will look great.
I would have liked your cab better had you put "Snap-On" on the marquee instead of down below, and took MAME off the marquee.
Nice job!

i will take some pics of the gun tonight when i get home from work. The recoil is just a small kickback when you pull the trigger. I will post a pic if i can get one of it moving. Its neat the first few times you use it but gets rather anoying after that.
The 4th joystick spot was for a flight stickj yes, but i cant justify the cost of buying one when i have no games that would use it :)

I hear ya', I can't find one worth anything for less than $100. :(

yeah it sucks. i know some people have use like microsoft sidewinders or what not. but everything else on the cab is arcade quality controls. id hate to hack in a stupid piece of plastic for the sake of it.
so it sits there waiting for one day when i might come by one on ebay cheap or something.
