Title: Tornado thru 1 hole on metal CP?
Post by: Jazzbo on May 19, 2006, 02:10:58 am
Hi, new poster here with what might be a stupid question. I've got a converted Dynamo "Solitaire Challenge" (a sort of semi-cabaret style cabinet meant for bars) with your typical out-of-control Frankenpanel which is now due for its final piece: a Slikstik Tornado spinner.  However, I'd really prefer not to drill five easily-misplaced holes in the panel if I can avoid it.  Anyone have an idea how I could mount it through one hole?  I considered adhesives but don't know anything strong enough.

An epoxy for metal might work, but the Tornado has a very small profile, so there

I've been dealing with the same concern.  I'm considering gluing a 3 x 3 piece of 3/4 inch wood to the bottom of the panel, then screwing the spinner to the wood.

Wood underneath sounds like a good idea.  What sort of adhesive were you looking at?  I'm no expert on adhesives but I seem to recall metal not being on their lists a lot of the time.  Metal epoxy is news to me, I'll check it out.  Of course, drilling is always an option but I'm worried about bad placement (and resulting ugliness) and would prefer not to have the screws on top if I can avoid it.

To the hardware store!

Of course I'm just going to wind up building a whole 'nother cab anyway in the long run.  No possibility of a Star Wars yoke on this one!
