Title: 50/60 Hz and multisync monitors?
Post by: Gaston77 on May 16, 2006, 08:06:17 am
Hello guys,

i've got a noob question which has cause confusion.

Standard television refresh rates are 60 HZ in the US and 50 HZ in Europe. Now, I have a D9200 multisync monitor which supports 15,5 KhZ, 25 Khz and 31 Khz (or close to those anyway) What I don't understand is the following; Would the monitor support the 60 and 50 Hz refresh rates or does this have nothing to do with the  15,5 KhZ, 25 Khz and 31 Khz  side of things?

Can a monitor only support 15,5 KhZ, 25 Khz and 31 Khz  but at the same time support 60 or 50 Hz??

Thanks,

You are mixing up the vertical sync and horiz sync freq.

Specs for D
Horizontal sync frequency: 15.75 to 31.5 Khz
Vertical sync frequency: 45 to 90 Hz

The 50 and 60 Hz refer to the vertical freq. US 60 Hz  Other 50 Hz for starndard TVs this is determined by line freq of the
supply.

The D9200 can do an even wider range of vertical freq 45 to 90 Hz and is not limited to line freq.
