Hi!
I want to see how the World Rally 2 sit-down cabinet looks like, but I can't find anything on the net!?
Any help would be GREAT!! :hissy:
-
I have one of those at work..... There's a lot of steel in it! if you want photographs I can take some for you. Be specific about particular areas that you want a photograph of .... If you want the back photographed, I'm afraid that's a no no!! I don't have the time to pick all the legs up and move it about.
Beware if you intend to build one that the Marquee unit alone takes two people to pick it up. It's a very very very heavy cabinet. There's also a lot of fibreglass in the outer shell... especially at the front and sides.

you should take the pics and add them to KLOV site. they need the marquee and cabinet pics.

I tell you what... I'll take the pictures tomorrow, post them on here, and if anybody feels like adding them to the KLOV then they can do.

Or even Outrun 2

We've got both of those in at the moment.

WORLD Rally, not Sega Rally.
And man, I'd kill for a Sega Rally machine like that. :badmood:

WORLD Rally, not Sega Rally.
That IS SEGA World Rally Championship 2 ....... He didn't make it clear that he was looking for ATARI World Rally 2. If he is looking for that then he's probably out of luck. As far as I know, they only made 100 units of it and none of those are known to exist. So the chances of finding any information are pretty damned slim.

Well this one will eventually end up in a field in Cornwall where it will join 100 or so other machines all rotting away. Because that's what my boss does with them when he's finished with them in the arcade. I can't save them, because I have nowhere to put them. And before anybody asks, no he doesn't and won't sell them. Don't ask why, because I have no idea!...

I'll see what I can dig up on the other machine...

Yep, that's how it always works. Me here. Arcade game I desire sitting unwanted in a field on the other side of the world. Great! ;D
As for the World Rally 2... IIRC that game was only a conversion kit.
It tends to show up ALOT on Pole Position machines. I have pretty much a whole kit for that game, minus marquee and jamma harness someplace.

Cornwall... ONTARIO?
-
Hi!!!
Thanks so far.
The game is world Rally, a 2D game sitdown machine.
I know nothing else:)

Cornwall... ONTARIO?
ROFLMAO.... :laugh2:
No! The real one! Cornwall.... that County south west of England. Where Harbour Amusements in St Ives, happen to be my employer, as senior maintenance engineer.

I will always know it as HillBilly Moonshine :P
I am 29 now and have been going to St. Ives and Hayle every year of my life from my home in the midlands. My parents have spent many hours sitting on the benches overlooking the harbour while I was in there playing Star Wars, Empire strikes back and Marble madness! It is sad but I recognised the arcade just from the first picture :-\
Corwall is where I got into arcade at places like Harbour Amusements, Poldark Mine where they still have a lot of old arcade machines, The World in Miniature or St. Agnes where i found a game called money money that I couldn't stop playing (the main reason why I found M.A.M.E) and The Bird in the Hand (Bird of Paradise Park) where they had Buggy Boy, Space Harrier and Pole Position sit downs in the old shed.
P.s Sorry for the thread hijack with my first post - I have been a lurker here for ages :)

Ahhh!! The Hillbilly is still at the front of the arcade and working as well as ever. I'm just doing some repairs to the amplifier boards for the sound effects. The background music has packed up yet again.

Unfortunately, all of which have long since departed the arcade. Star Wars sit down cabinet, I'm told still exists in a very poor condition, although I haven't had chance to examine it yet. I'm going to try and persuade my boss to start a retro game section at some point!

Ahhh! all great places to visit.... I live in St Erth just down the road from Paradise Park.

Not a problem!! Welcome to posting here... and when you're next in St Ives and in the Arcade ask for Julian at the cash desk. If I'm in I'll be happy to say hello. I'm from the West Midlands as well originally
