Title: configuring mamewah??

Im havin problems tryin to get mamewah started, ive followed the instructions as best as i can but still can't to seem to get it to run. When i start MAMEWah and select in the options menu to generate list nothing happens.

My mame.ini file looks like this..

can anybody tell me if my directories look off or if im missing sumthin obvious. thanks.

For your roms folder you have ~\Desktop\MAME\roms. For your executable you have ~\Desktop\MAME.exe.

Hopefully you do have a \MAME folder on your desktop (as you have it in your roms path), therefore your executable should be:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\MAME\MAME.exe

although I wouldn't really recommend keeping your mame folder with roms on your Desktop, unless you are just testing - store it somewhere permanent, like C:\mame.

Also, if you did not get a list when trying to generate, there is probably still something wrong with your roms and/or roms path.

thanks alot mate, that got it workin. Knew it was sumthin stupid and obvious as that.. :P

i got another question, im trying to change the layout of mame, i whipped up a lay file just to test it but i cant seem to find the file where you link the layout file. Also what size would some of you reccomend using in mamewah?

mamewah.ini - set 'layout layoutname'

Oh well it depends on what monitor you're using and your personal preference really.  I use a standard res. arcade monitor and like to use 368x240.
