Title: Pixely non-mame emulators

I am running my non-mame emulators on fullscreen and some of them look very pixelated.  Any suggestions on how to correct this?  Run them on a higher or lower resolution?  Any special options I should choose?

They're SUPPOSED to look pixelly. MAME is one of the few that has added graphics filters to make it not pixelly, but under normal operation even MAME should be pixelly.
