heh, they dont have the manual for one of the best (if not THE best)this was originally a reply to the tekken topic but I changed my mind to get more feedback), but anyways, hello people i am new to these forums(obviously) but i have done alot of research torwards making my own cabinet... My original plan was a standard mame cabinet and what not, but then later on i decided to get the more recent games into this cabinet and i wasnt exactly sure what type of monitor i would need for games like Marvel vs Capcom 2, Power Stone 1/2, Guilty Gear x/xx etc, any input would be GREATLY appreciated.
thx :)

When in doubt, check klov.com -- ultimate resource on arcade games. All the games you mentioned, though, use plain, old standard res arcade monitors.
However, -- based on the games you mentioned -- I would assume that by 'more recent games' you really mean DC games.. in which case I don't know if I'd recommend an arcade monitor over a large TV due to the difficulty in setting it up (hacking a Scart lead or VGA box, etc.).

if your actually buying the boards prepare to spend serious cash on that naomi board and gd rom $1000+++
you'll get the best picture with a vga monitor since naomi outputs vga

ok, the prices i know and I am well aware of how much I am going to have to pay but thankx anyway and thanx for the monitor info vga ;)

cool name..wait a second..its from METAL GEAR... :D.
Anyway..i didnt understand your question..
what kind of monitor you have?
Is it VGA?
If so then you get a dreamcast and a vga box and you can play marvel vs capcom 2 and other arcade perfect dreamcast games.
for ggxx...you can also get vga boxes for other system...
If its standard 15 khz arcade monitor then you do a vga hack and use dreamcast and no idea about how to hook up ps2 or x-box with arcade monitor(look around..it shouldnt be that hard to do).

well if you really want to use a console on ggxx thats pretty simple as its one of the few games on ps2 that output native vga your gonna have to find the right cable or hack your own though
the xbox outputs rgb but no vga

cheap converters can be found at xboxvga.com

No, I want to use a Naomi MAIN BOARD with the capcom i/o and i was askign which monitor is best for that and that question was already answered, its just that i appreciate the arcade feel alot more then that of the console.

The wells-gardner D9200 can accept vga input levels and also has headers for standard CGA-type monitor. Perhaps a best of both worlds solution?
I just ordered a refurbished one from w-g for $325.
Bit better than $495 new.

This is covered in the Game Consoles FAQ section of this site.
