I have a cabinet built, and I'm looking to put a custom marquee in it...
I've come up with "Arcade-Generation" or "The Arcade-Generation" as a name or title...
I was thinking of having a bunch of arcade artwork, but I'm not sure...
Maybe the characters could be faded, so they aren't the focal point, then the title Arcade-Generation could be large and bright...
The machine's theme is black and red in colour...
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for someone who isn't graphically inclined?
Any help is greatly appreciated...

make the text logo with red and black borders with white glow. Place whatever characters you wanna use and lower transparency of some of the characters to 50-60%. Just play around you will come up with something !

I did a search and found some logos, characters, etc...I'm wondering about the text...what about font, etc...I played with Illustrator a little and just did some simple text and made a bit of a drop shadow for it...ignore all the other junk, I was just importing pictures to play with...
Any font suggestions for placement, or which font to use??

I've tried playing around with some different ideas, and nothing seems to work out...I keep coming back to this...can anyone give some suggestions as to what I can do to spruce this up...this is the general idea of what I'd like...I think...

I had a similar type of idea in mind. I liked the thought of some characters and wanted them doing something other than standing around. I must have tried 500 different combinations and ended up with the attached marquee. My cabinet colors are red, black and silver.
Hopefully this will give you some inspiration.

Couple more thoughts for you:
How about using some images of different arcade machines in the background such as a Pong, Asteroids, Killer Instinct and Gauntlet Legends which would show some different generation of arcade cabinets? There are lots of images out there that you could use so you wouldn't have to create all of it. Take a look at 3D arcade and the skins sections, specifically the machines one and you will see where I'm getting my idea from. http://3darcade.mameworld.net/
Not sure if it has been done or not but another name could be Arcade Evolution and you could use the same type of theme and ideas.
