Title: JPAC keeps disconnecting itself
Post by: xteeejx on April 21, 2006, 01:23:45 pm
Hey all, has anyone had this problem?  After playing on my cabinet for a while ( maybe an hour ) I start hearing that XP 'bing-bong' sound of a device getting unplugged and my controls lock-up for a couple seconds.  If I open the control panel I can see the JPACs self test led switching on and off.

I would assume it was a short, but I tried different USB ports with the same effect and the cable and JPAC are brand new from Divemaster.

I searched here and looked on ultimarc's website but couldn't find anything.  Could it be a software thing?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

This happend to me when I was moving it around a lot and unpluging it a lot when i was working with a temp set-up.  I guessing its just a loose conection.  I have the PS/2 i-pac2 so its a tad diffrent but its basicly the same thing.

Could you possibly describe the wiring setup that you have?

Make sure to see that the USB input thing on the JPAC is soldered correctly. Sometimes they get a bump or bend and the ground will come lose, and when something moves it will unplug and plug back again.
