So I've installed AtomicFE (with acades plug n play) and Mala in my cab and I'm able to see the games list in both but I can't get either to launch a game. Atomic times out and Mala says my games are missing components. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
I'm running a new install of XPpro. I'm pretty new at this but I've done a lot of searching and reading and still can't get this to work.
Launching games with mamepgui works fine btw.
Any Ideas?
Thanks!

Atomic by default points to a "fake" version of Mame. Did you point to the Mame executable, and also specify the roms folder?
Also, what version of Mame are you running?
-
Yeah, I downloaded the Arcades Angelscry plug'n'play module and pointed the cfg files to my roms folder and mamep.exe. After I did that, the roms list shows up but the games wil not run. According to the Atomicfe site the version in the module is mame plus .105. I think my roms set is .103.
I also tried pointing atomic at mamepgui.exe assuming it wouldn't work, it didn't ;-).
Thanks!

Hmmm.... Well AtomicFE is working now. I guess it just didn't like my wack naming scheme. I just removed all the spaces in the folder names amd voila.
Mala's still broken, I'm over it.
Anybody know if there's a way to make Atomic search subfolders or include multiple folders for roms, snaps etc?
Thanks!

Hi,
Effectivly, Atomic can have some problem when there is space in folder (depending on certain configuration option).
Atomic can not yet browse multiple folder on one config file. (these features are planed) for now you have to use the multiconf to make one config by folder and browse through config.
Why do you have multiple folder? You have a folder by game category?
the module plug'n play Mame_youki1 , sort games by category , the module expect that all roms are in the same folder, but you can very easly make point each category on a different folder. (same thing for snaps).
Descripbe me a little more what you would like to have , i could explain you better how to do that.

Hi Youki,
My roms are all in one folder, but my CHDs are all in seperate folders, I don't know if that matters or not. Should I put them all in the roms folder? And My snaps are in different folders, but that's not difficult to fix.
My main problem now is trying to setup the multiconfig. I followed the intructions but it doesn't seem to be working. After running the multiconfig I still only see the arcades menu not any of the genre menus I set up in the multiconfig. Do I need to do something different since I have the AngelscryArcades plugnplay installed?
Do I need to modify a file to point to the muliconfig files? I feel like there's some basic part of this, I'm not understanding ;)
Thanks!

Hi,
When you are using a Plug'n play module (when at least one plug'n play is activated) Atomic is in Plug'n Play mode.
It means it will only load module activated in the PlugnPlay manager other config file will be ignored.
But there 2 solutions :
1- the first one you disable all plug'n play module with the PlugnplayManager.exe , in that case Atomic will run the normal configuration you defined as start up config.
2- Using the plugnplay manager , you can add your own config file to the Module list.
If you used the multiconf wizard to create your config , you will have to add the Main.Cfg file in the module list.
But if what you are trying to do is to modify the module arcade to have the category list , it is different. Module haven't be designed to be modified in they structure, but of it is doable. Using the multiconf wizard you can generate your config based on the Arcade.cfg file , then you can edit the file Arcade.pnp (in the PlugnPlay folder) to make it point to the Main.cfg you just generated. It should work.

Cool, I got it working thanks! I used the multiconfig to create the config files from the arcades.cfg, then switched the arcades.cfg to be a cfg loader. Piece of cake!
Now if I could just figure out my monitor's vertical scrolling problem, I'd be good to go!
Thanks a lot!

Cool.
For you monitor problem. If your image scroll vertically i think you just have to move the VSync potentiometer (variable resistor) (that should be somewhere in your cab) until the scroll stop.

Hey Youki,
I didn't see your reply until just now. Thanks, yeah the vsync works for about half of the games but a lot of the vertical games and mortal kombat games etc. won't without adjusting every time. I'm still trying to figure out a soultion, but I know it doesn't have anything to do with the font end.
Thanks!
