Title: wiring power and pause to same button. safe to do so?

is it safe to wire power button from PC and pause wire from IPAC4 to same button on my CP?

here's the drawing how i plan to wire it.

well.....it is safe to do so, it shouldn't hurt anything, but every time you try to pause a game your computer will turn off.

that's no problem i can tell winxp not to turn off when i push the button.

Then how do you turn it off?  You going to wire up another button for "off"?  And what's XP going to do when you push it, then- sleep mode?

my pc will turn off if you hold it for ~5 seconds but also doesn't mamewah have power off feature as well?

You can have mamewah escape straight to whatever you want without going through the menu.  I didn't know if you were serious because having the power button and the pause button together doesn't make much sense to me.  On a side note, I know that someone made a batch file that would make it so the escape button had to be held in for two seconds before a game would be existed to avoid accidental escapes in the heat of battle.  I plan on having a power button out of normal reach, and using a shaaazam button to escape games.  I would love to use the pause button as a shift as well so that both would have to be pressed to exit a game.  I'm still researching that option.

BTW, didn't mean to leave such a rude first response, it was my first reaction.
