Okay people, Im sick of the contradicting information out there. Lets clarify it once and for all..
Can the following games be emulated to a playable state? If so , what emu should one use?
VIRTUA RACING
VIRTUA FIGHTER 1
THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD
FIGHTING VIPERS
LAST BROX
SONIC THE FIGHTERS
VIRTUA STRIKER
VIRTUA FIGHTER 2
-
Well, for Sonic Fighters, go and buy the Sonic Gems Collection for Gamecube. Emulated perfectly there. ;) Most of the others: go buy a Dreamcast!
-
There's no contradicting info out there I suggest you actually get off your lazy bum and try emus that feature these games rather than listening to anyone.
Some of these games sorta work in certain emus, but you need a powerful processor, a butt-load of ram and in the case of the model2 emulator windows xp and a non-ati video card.

theres TONS of contrdicting info regarding required specs and game support. Heck the Nebula Model 2 emulator website doesnt even have a list of supported games.
Some sites mark HOTD1 as unplayable, while others say its 100% playable and full speed. I tried it, works full speed but has a horrible horrible audio glitch.
It amazes me that people are working on model 3 emulation (Supermodel) when we havent even perfected model2 yet.

Ever hear of Microsoft Windows? They invented the concept you speak of.

Let's see, (from system16.com (http://www.system16.com/))
Model 3:
Main CPU : 32bits RISC PowerPC 603 66Mhz
Graphics Chip : 2 x Lockheed Martin Real3D/PRO-1000
Sound CPU : 16bits 68EC000 11.3Mhz
Sound chip : Yamaha SCSP/YMF-292F/"LAKE" FH1 128-step DSP x 2
Model 2:
Main CPU : Intel i960-KB @ 25 MHz 32bits RISC
Graphics Co-Processor : Fujitsu TGP MB86234 FPU 32bits 16M flops
Sound CPU : 16bits 68000 @ 10Mhz
Sound chip : 2 x Custom 28 channel PCM chips
You're right, since sooooooo much is the same between model 2 & 3, people should wait until model 2 is finished before going on to model 3.
-
Heh so model 3 is just basically a glorified powerpc..... makes me wonder why it isn't out yet.
As for model 2, the with the two custom sound chips it's a miracle it has gotten as far as it has.

Its sarcastic morons like who dog this forum and tear this community apart.
All you had to do was to explain the technical differences without behaving like an a-sshole..
As we say in the UK.. PRAT!

As we also say in the uk...that is well out of order. U rebel knows more than most here...and you could've looked up the technical specs yourself in a few seconds.
And your comment was prattish really...pretty much no emulation is perfect so if we waited for 'simple' things first we wouldn't have anything above 8-bit systems emulated.

Im sorry but HE was out of order with his sarcasm. Yeah I could have looked up the specs, but that was NOT the basis of my original question. I simply made an off the cuff comment, which in hindsight was ignorant (When it came to model 2 emulation), HOWEVER I did NOT deserve the sarcasm.
Im sorry but this is a community, whether members are respected more than others or not. everyone has the right to ask questions and learn from other's experiences. There is no need to be elitist or snobbish.
I have asked you many questions in the past minwah and you have always answered me courtiously without the need for being rude or sarcastic.

If it weren't for the sarcasm I would visit the board anymore. Maybe that's why I enjoy Howard's post soooo much!

Granted, theres sarcasm and theres just being plain nasty.
Anyway I think I have built up this 'incident' too much LOL.

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you did. No worries, though. If you don't like it, all you have to do is stop behaving like a tool.
