Do you guys know of any molding that doesn't have th "t" in it and is maybe backed with some adhesive? I should have routed around my panel and it's too late now. It's for a desktop controller and it would only be about 4 and half feet that I would need.

I don't think anything with adhesive is going to hold up very well.
You could glue strips of Formica to the edge and then use a flush trim bit on it. Also they make an edging material that you iron on that might hold up better.

I wound up buying t molding and cutting the spine off with an exacto knife. Then I used a hot glue gun to install it. Not the preferable way to do it, but it worked pretty well for me.

that would look awfull... just leat it bare... or possibly get some L shaped corner molding

Be hard to to do with chrome molding

That might work if you bondo'd the edge and did a good job prepping it but if you just painted the bare edge it would look pretty crappy.

There is a 3mm and 5mm glue on edge banding that many cabinet (non-arcade) manufacturers use to finish edges. It's flat, not rounded like t-molding so it won't look much if anything like it but it will provide you with a finished edge of a chosen color. You can likely find some around your house to see what it looks like. Look for a cabinet (again, non-arcade) that isn't made out of solid wood. It's edges will be finished in the 3mm variety and you might find the 5mm on the edges of the doors.
Expensive machines are the normal way of applying this stuff, but some times due to the shape of the board the only option is to glue it on by hand using a high-strength contact adhesive. This does hold up pretty well and look nice when done right. I'm not sure where or if this stuff is commercially available, but it might be something to look into.

A good and easy solution would be that iron on edging found in places like Home Depot. Ive used this stuff with great results.

If I bought t-molding and cut off the middle insert portion, what glue should I use to attach it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I'm going to try to cut off the edging of t molding and use a hot glue gun. If that doesn't work I may try some of that iron on.
