I just found a website called www.petsorfood.com , and it got me thinking. In the United States, what pets can legally be slaugtered for consumption? As far as I'm concerned, if you want to spend $500 on a cocker spaniel just for the rack of ribs, you should be allowed to

Muslims won't eat bacon.
Hindus won't eat corned beef.
But I know that both are damn good eating.

So why should I restrict myself from eating dogs and cats?

I've been thinking about this, and I'm ready to try dog.  In fact, why stop there?  I want doggy veal.  I bet puppy meat is the bomb.

This a true story...

In 1990 my first year of college I was dating A girl who was Korean.  Her parents lived in the U.S. for 15 years.  while we were dating, her grand mother came from Tongyong (I think) to visit America for the first time.

While at the local Safeway she was absoulty stunned to see an entire isle of caned Dog and Cat meat.  She told my girlfriend that she had no idea Americans had such a defined taste for Dog, citing that the cans seemed to be catagorized by dog type from the pictures.

We laughed for a minute and then Jing explained that the food in the cans was actually for dogs and cats.  Her grandmother did not believe her, saying why would anyone spend money on dog food.

Toolaa

That reminds me of a story the Cheif engineer on the ship told me during watch one night...

He was stationed in Korea at the time and took his boy to what he thought was a pet store to pick out a pup... the guy told him to come back in a few hours and he'd have it ready.... when he came back to pick up the dog he had learned that it was really a pick your own meat butcher shop... and the dog was ready (to be cooked)
