Below are some pics of my latest DC to Jamma Convertor that I have recently built for someone. As you can see, it has been streamlined from my previous version. (Here is a link to the post of my old version.) (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=48247.msg468306#msg468306) This new version has quicker access to all 4 VMU slots and the volume control. All cables and wires have been labeled for easy installation. The 2 wires are used for the 6th buttons/Right Triggers due to the Jamma 5-button format. I have used a Mad Catz controller (Player 1) and a standard SEGA controller (Player 2). The enclosure is made of aluminum and select areas have chrome tape applied to prevent any damage to the VMUs and the user. (The cut edges of the aluminum can still be sharp enough to cut skin even after it has been sanded down.) As always, questions and comments are welcome.

neat :)

Looks sweet. too bad you can't mass produce them at an affordable cost. Seems like you'd sell butt load of them.
Another job well done.

Where do you get those Jamma connector boards from?

Oh sweet, thanks for the link, SNAAKE.

That is a really nice finger board. They made it idiot proof. All of the positions are etched into the board. No more counting pins to figure out which one is P1 UP.
-
Mass producing these would require alot of time and capital to get to the price point of the MGCD or Super. For the time being, these will be custom built to requests. Thanks for the compliments.

just one thing, meanbean you're :notworthy:

Here is another DC2Jamma Converter built to order for a customer. It has some subtle improvements over my other v2.0. This one has a power on amber LED, volume knob, 4 rubber feet and no extruding analog joystick. As always, questions and comments are welcome.

Meanbean, awsome work. I have a few suggestions for Ver 3:
- stick to 3 button jamma standard for the fingerboard, and make a kickharness connector for the other 6 buttons. Optionally provide the kickharness so people can wire up the extra buttons.
- only use madcats pads (avoid sega pads because of trigger lag)
- add L/R RCA jacks for cabs with stereo amps (or QSound)
- add toggle switch with VGA connector for 15/31khz output
-
Thanks for the props and suggestions Dave K. While the wiring scheme is up to the customer, I do already offer a 34-pin header for CPS2/3 kick harness compatibility. At least one Mad Catz Dream Pad (6-button controller) is used in the converter. It is always assigned to the first player. The second player is usually assigned a Sega/3rd party controller. While I have stereo jacks instock, I have not been requested to provided stereo sound on the converter but can do so if requested. I have no plans for a VGA connector but may offer this option only if interest is high enough. Thanks again for your suggestions.
