Hello, I'm in much the same position fat-johnny was in 2003.  I've SK Jukebox running on a perfectly acceptable laptop running my entire MP3 collection, but I want to transmit it all over the house.

I do have an Apple Airport Express mains adapter gizmo, but hate iTunes, and anyway want to beam my jukebox selections, and not have to use Itunes to select the tracks.

Is there perhaps an API that can interface whatever is sent to my laptop soundcard, across the airwaves to my Airport Express, or some other device that will suit the bill?

SK Jukebox rocks, and I recommend everyone donate (like me) to encourage SalmonKing to develop yet further!   :applaud:

Are you going to have a pc where each listening station is?  Just run SK on there and network the files?

I have a PC in the basement with the MP3's, my wife runs SK on her PC, her and kids just use the keyboard to work it, I have a "real"  juke with buttons that is also in the basement, I'm working on a touch screen juke also.  they all just share the files.

Sorry should have been a little more specific.  The wireless sending will be to non-PC rooms such as the lounge and bedroom.

The Airport Express gizmo is a mains plug that listens out for wireless PCs running Itunes, and has a 3.5mm jack out plug to connect to stereo phono jacks. If there is something relatively cheap and similar to the Airport then I'd sell the Airport and invest in one/two receivers.

I'm not much of a playlist guy, I usually just play what I want.  and we don't do random play much because of all the album stuff that I might not want to hear  :dizzy:, so, I guess the idea of having speakers in a room and no way to control the jukebox doesn't work for us.

I'm interested to see how you make out though.

Why not just use a set of wireless speakers or is that too simple?

There are loads listed here, You can get these things everywhere now for very little outlay.

Good suggestion Barcrest, but I've already got decent speakers plumbed in to the other rooms. I wonder about an audio sender setup though, that can grab output off phones jack and send it to a receiver that blasts the input into an amp?

Thing i need though is a thru connector for the laptop, so that the speakers on the laptop can still pump music out too!

Kind of found an answer, for your information.  This site provides a freeware tool that pipes the output from your PC speaker to any Apple Airport Express unit: http://www.ovesens.net/default.asp?PageId=8

It does this by recording the sound output, then piping it so there is a three second delay, not a problem if you can disconnect the speakers on the source PC, not so good on the source laptop I use. :(

RogueAmoeba do something similar for the Mac and it keeps the source and destination (to more than one AExpress) in sync, but no "public" plans to provide this for us PC users: http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/
