Hey, whats up people, Well I new to this forum, but I'm excited to be apart of it...Listen can someone help me on this. I have Mame v.104u9. And I download a very old rom " Area51"....Now I do have the CHD and I did do this MAME/ROMS/AREA51/AREA51FOLDER...WHy won't it play??? i'VE also tried other mame as well...My computer specs are Pentium 4 Demions 3000 from "DELL" iT Keeps saying that it can't find the "CHD" Why...its there in the area51 folder in roms....Can someone please help.....Thanks  Later

mame\roms\area51\area51.chd - the chd

Hey, whats up "CDBrown"...Yes, I do know of that method, but I'm telling you dude that even the mame v.105 seems to be lacking the ability to locate the CHD in the subdirectory! I'll see if I can go about getting you some pictures so you can "see" whats happening yourself. But I have to figure out how to do it tho.

what comes up on the screen when you type in
mame area51
it should list what it is missing.  Perhaps the very old rom is actually too old for 104u9 and you need to get the latest version of the rom.

Maybe it has something to do with your incorrect slash's (use \'s not /'s in file paths).

Now, the idea about the Updated ROM is an "idea".....But what it says to me is "CHD NOT FOUND" and thats all....How do you explain this?? But I will try that new rom if there is one!

if it says that then the rom should be alright and that the chd is either named wrongly, still zipped, in a wrong named folder, don't have the chd.  area51.chd should be about 517mb according to maws.
