I've been bit by the bug. this is my second cab. i wanted something small for the kids.
it's pretty much to scale as a big machine. i had some left over wood, so i built a storage
box for the bottom. it' s like a convertible. (on the ground for kids, and on the box for adults.
let me know what you think. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's pretty neat, but how is the stability? It won't fall over easily if bumped, will it?
-
Who's gonna be picking it up and putting it back down, and how often?
-
you'll want it so that your wrists are at a comfortable height on the control panel. You're probably already taking that into consideration but I just wanted to say it.

its really stable. the top arcade has alot of mass and the bottom stand is really wide, so it's never going to topple over. i've given it some hip checks and the whole thing wont budge. i'd expect it is going to stay put until two people decide its time to move it.
i'm going to tear it all apart and start working on some crazy sideart.

How often are you going to be converting it? It seems like it would be worth making some kind of basic latching mechanism. Have you considered something like below?

Wouldn't it be easier just to make a regular size cabinet and a small stool or step for the kids to step on? Moving the step is much lighter than moving the cabinet... :)

It would have been easier, but I wanted to build something that was child sized and do
away with the stool. Plus without the stand it is essentially a sit down unit for adults and
a stand up unit for the kids.
here is a better pic.

How many have you sold yet? Are you going to include mame with it? Are the kids included with the sale?
