I just spent at least the last hour writing up an exhaustive explanation of laminate surfaces -- what it is, what advantages it has over paint, step-by-step application instructions, where to buy, links to pictures and manufacturers, etc.
I was about 9/10 finished and ---smurfing--- *POOF!* it just disappeared, like I hit the refresh button or something.
It could just as well have been a glitch in Firefox or something, but basically I hate the world right now. What a ---smurfing--- waste of time and effort. No way in hell I'll be tackling that again. Seriously, I've been typing and gathering resources and links and so on for at least an hour. It was really nicely done. :banghead:
Kidding, of course, about the subject line, but I'm pissed.

:( Hate to hear that. If you do get the motivation to start something that big again, I always do something involved in notepad and save as I go. I accidentally hit the thumb-button on the left of my Microsoft mouse while writing up something big, which is mapped to "back" in web browsers, and lost it all. I was ticked.

*Sometimes* you can hit Control-Z and get things back. In most applications, it's "undo".

I do the same. You only have to lose one very long post before you decide to try a new system.

I'm over it now. I'll certainly make use of a text editor next time, though :)

I bet the site just wasn't ready for you to post something useful to arcade building.

Be nice mccoy. Gay men can become quite emotional and I hate to see a grown shmokes cry.
I am here for you man. (But not in that kind of way.)
* Not that there is anything wrong with it.

Whos that wierd looking guy with the hat and ciggy in that pic. :applaud:

I tend to type everything in my email program. For one thing my spelling is atrocious (I would never have spelled atrocious right). After a spell check I cut and past to the post/reply window.

Also, it's not fool-proof, but after typing a long post, before clicking "Post" or "Preview", select the entire text of the post, right-click and select Copy. Then you can paste it into a text editor or paste it back in a new post, if the web goes KaBloooey, but you don't have mutiple apps open if it works.

You should try the new Firefox 2.0 beta. It has real-time spell checking in text areas on forms. It's similar to MS word, it underlines things in red that it thinks you've misspelled. I love it.

You know, other boards don't just delete input boxes when you refresh, or go forwards or back. I always wondered why this one did. It's very annoying...

God, I love this team. mccoy, markrvp, jacktucky . . . zakk seems like a budding member of the club. Ya'll just can't handle me. :laugh2:
