Okay here are the specifications from Betson's website.
Weight: 83 lbs
Size: 27"
Height: 23"
Width: 235"
Length: 25"
235" Wide! I'm hoping this is 23.5 can anyone confirm?
Also is this monitor set in the frame at an angle? If so does anyone know what this is? I planning to make a cardboard mock up, so that I can mount my monitor shelf perfectly the first time..

Nope 235 is right. Over all the monitor is 19.5 feet. Makes for a great game of pacman. :)
Okay 23.5 is about right. My cab is 27" on the inside and there is about 1-2 inches to spare on a side.

Hey thanks for the pic. So, the monitor frame looks to be already set at an angle. Did you have to angle the monitor supports to match the angle of the front of your cab? They look flat.
Doesn't look like you went with a standard flat shelf for it either. Doesn't appear necessary. Interesting.

The frame is not at an angle. The base is at an angle. I made the mounts to fit my cab. They are angle irons like what you would use to mount a garage door opener. I just attached the bottom and then tilted the monitor back to where I wanted it and attached the top. The monitor in my cab does not sit on the base. Pretty simple solution.

Wow! Very cool. Looks like our cabs are at about the same point construction wise. I'm planning on buying my monitor this Wed. Got lucky Betson is located locally!
Thanks for the pic it really has helped me get an idea for how to mount mine. Did you use
1 1/2" x 1 1/2" angle iron? My wife works right by a metal warehouse, so I should be able to pick that up on the cheap.

It is 1.5" x 1.5" angle iron.. but unless you are making a big space with top and bottom attachemnts like my cab you will want to wait and see what fits.
... actually my cab is bit beyond the point in the pic. :)

Your cab looks completely awesome! As for mine. I'm trying not to get discouraged.
I'm planning on building some frame work in there to attach top and bottom. From what I can gather this is how the monitor is "suppose" to be attached form the factory. Does the bottom of the base need any support at all?

The only 2 attach points on my monitor is 2 bolts on the top and 2 on the bottom. What I would do is build a simple 2x4 frame base. On the top of the base angle a piece of MDF and attach the monitor to that. You will need to have the monitor handy to see what the default angle is and make adjustments depending on what your cab will look like. Go to a lot of arcades and see what angle their monitors are. The benefit to more upright monitor is that it's easier to use with light guns bust you get more glare. Do a little homework and I and take it slow - it will tyrn out great.

What I would do is build a simple 2x4 frame base. On the top of the base angle a piece of MDF and attach the monitor to that.
I've thought about this for awile and the only thing that concerns me is that when the base is weight bearing the electronics will be more vulnerable to bumps and jars during gameplay. I tested this monitor on a desktop and noticed that every little bump jared the electronics on the monitor. Am I worrying about nothing?

Once you slap the side on and attach the front and back, stability will not be an issue. My frame was a little wobbly until the sides were on and the back and front pieces attached. Now it is rock solid.
The top half of my frame weighs very little. The top and back pieces of MDF add all the stability and weight. Just screw and glue everything.

Once you attacthed the bottom do you just lean the monitor back slightly bending the angle iron to achive the overall monitor angle?

OUt of curiosity what is the overall width of your cab, miles?
I am gathering parts for my first cab and got my Betson in today so I am trying to decide the best way to mount it. I designed my cab around the UAII design, but I am thinking of going back to a Lusid design for simplicity. But I LIKE the UAII, but the monitor mounting is throwing me.
(mainly because I wanted to make the top part of the UAII design removable for easier mobility)

If you want to move it around just add some wheels. I have 4" harbor freight specials on mine. No brake because I can't accesss the wheels so I use a pice a wood to prop up the cab and hold it securely. Works great. The UA2 design is nice but removing the top to transport it would be a pain. These monitors weigh a lot and then combine that with MDF. All the weight is in the monitor. Controlls and PC don't weigh that much in comparison.
Google scotts unicade for some free plans. He also shows how to make it step by step.
