Title: Tron Spinner help
Post by: Hoopz on March 30, 2006, 04:58:54 pm
I am trying to remove the knob off of an original Tron spinner.  I have a 1/16 hex key (allen wrench) that seems to fit into the hole and make a good fit with the allen screw but it will not turn.  I don't want to apply too much force and damage anything obviously.

Will someone who has a Tron spinner check to see how their's screws in for me please and share any other advice/thoughts/things NOT to do?     ;D

If the screw is simply stuck, would spraying WD 40 or another type of solvent damage the spinner or CPO?

Thanks!

Heh, perhaps Hoopz should change the subject of the thread to "Need help getting my knob off".  That should bring in the thread views. ;D

The knob itself is held on by a roll pin.
You have to punch it out of there.
I've never had to do that though, so I don't know how easy it is to get it back into place afterward.

I personally wouldn't mess with it.
If you undo the other end of the shaft, it will slide out of the bushing.

Thanks everyone.  NoOne was right.  I thought about that earlier but mistakenly though that taking the knob off was the "right" way while doing it the other way was more complicated....

It only took me about 30 seconds to get my knob off from the other end.

Happy now Ahofle?   ;D

I appreciate the help all.   :applaud:
