OK, I am now ready to start building my control panels for my cocktail table. I am building them out of 3/4 inch mdf and my questions is how deep/tall should they be? I need to be able to mount a 3 inch trackball from GGG, twister from GGG, 360 joysticks and electric ice buttons from GGG. How many inches do I need to mount these, 4"??
Thanks

I believe that commercial tables are 4" thick.
Although, If you CP is 3/4 then that leaves you with 3 3/4 without a bottom piece.
I suppose that one could make it any size as long as all your sticks fit inside. I made some out of cardboard first and smaller that 4" looks weak. I tried 7 1/2 because I had left over oak play-wood left over that was this size. But If you go too fat one wont have room for knees and coin door. Plus it looks top heavy. I finally went back to 4" but I have metal CPs that give me more room than you will have.
The deepest joystick I could find was the Happ's top fire and I think it hangs down about 3.5 inches due to the extra switch on the bottom.
As for track balls, I got a Happs GT and it sits about 3" below the CP. But a bestson I don't have a clue.
Good luck!

so you think as long as the inside depth is 4 inches I should be ok?
