Hi folks.
I'm just trying to see what sort of interest there is out there at the moment. I've got a fully working RoadBlasters machine that I need to get rid of. It's missing the front door to the guts section, and the locks to the over-under coin door, but other than that, it's complete and works fine. The control panel is clean, good looking, and fully working.
Since it's a System 1 machine, you can swap out the control panel, marquee, and pcb and make it a Marble Madness, Indiana Jones, Roadrunner, etc...
I'm hoping to get something like $200 for the intact machine, but if there's no interest I could part the thing out.
I'm in Columbus, Ohio.

Ooo... pics, yeah. That'd be a good idea, right? I'll take some tonight/tomorrow morning.

If you part it out, i'd be interested in the CP (minus the steering wheel) and the buttons off of the steering wheel.
-
nooooo dont part it out!!!! post some pics i want it i wantttt it!!! lol

For anyone not in the "central Ohio" area that is looking for a Roadblasters cab....missing the same door but i will make one up for it. I have one in the MA/RI area for sale as well. Will be happy to get $150. or make an offer(trade or cash) Sides are painted. Screen is clean. game play excellent.

Sorry about that, I was in fact just posting a source for the control panel alone. If anyone is selling one in the Chicago area, PM me because I would be interested.

Yes, thank you for the link. I'm not in desperate need of a RB CP, the one I have is just a little beat up. I just thought if he was parting it out and had no takers on the CP, I might be able to get a better one for a decent price. Of course i'd rather have someone buy the complete game from him, i hate to see things parted out. I just thought I would 'throw in my hat' as wanting the CP if he does decide to go that route.

Heh. no, I'm not parting it out as yet. I'm just waiting for my wife's friend to return the camera. I'll have pics asap.
sorry for the delay. :dizzy:

Whooeee. That took entirely too long to get these pics up for you folks.
The game itself works, 100%. The only "needs to be fixed" things are cosmetic problems with the cabinet itself. I've installed brand new speakers, and hand-built a brand new bezel for it.
The cab could use a nice coat of black paint, and new side-decals. The current decals have been trimmed down and oversprayed (was like that when I got it) but still fairly attractive. The top corner of the right side (shown in pic) has a crack that needs to be repaired, but doesn't look bad
The control panel is very nice and clean and all buttons work great.

The sound/power board has been completely rebuilt, and the power supply has new big blue caps. The game is currently set to free play, but can go back to quarters/tokens by chaging a setting on the game menu. It is missing the front door, the locks, coin mechs, and the coin bin. The coin counter works fine when not in free play mode.
The main System1 board that holds the RoadBlasters cartridge is origionally from a Marble Madness, so there won't be any problems changing the game to any of the other System1 games. (The earlier main-boards couldn't handle input from dual trackballs.)

The monitor has some burn-in, not too bad, but is completely hidden by the tinted glass.
Take a look at that *sweet* brand new, hand-crafted $2 bezel (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=17175.0)! (thanks Tailgunner!)
The monitor is crisp and bright, with all colors showing up clear and strong.
a few more photos can be seen at Yahoo Photos (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/alakazam_oh/album?.dir=f60e&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos).
Please let me know what you think!

MUST HAVE ROADBLASTERS WITH BURN-IN
its only a true classic if it has burn-in!
my new motto lol
-
;D If you don't want the roadblasters burn in, I have a monitor with extremely minor burgertime burn... but it wants a cap-kit because it doesn't do red very well. The cars look greenish.
-
no i want burn in i wasnt being sarcastic
esp if its from the game thats in the cab lol
