Title: Monitor problems
Post by: KDOG on March 29, 2006, 11:53:55 am
having  a Problem with my new monitor. The bottom left corner of the picture looks discolored almost like it is dirty. So I used a mointor test program and notice some things. The top left corner jets in like 5 degrees and I can't correct it with the osd. Also the corner that looked dirty can't saturate its colors. It looks like there is a magnet is being held by it. Other than that monitor looks good.

its a degauss issue, try rotating the monitor by 90 degrees see if it helps, otherwise you could have a fault on the degauss circiut or a magnetised frame/bolt

What kind of monitor?

Usually these problems go away on their own after a while.

Your monitor needs to be manually degaussed with a hand degausser coil.

Thanks for the info Ray, grantspain, and ken. This is my first arcade monitor so I didn't mess it up by doing some thing wrong. I did try the built in dedauss but it only helped a little. Where would you buy a degausser coil at ? I know there is a way to make your own some where in the fourm.

edit
Ray it is a billabs bl27cb1t goes up to 800x600

Heyas Kdog

I recently had your same problem but my monitor wasnt able to completly degausse itself.

I happen to remember a G4 program (Attack of the show) that showed you how to make your degausser (sp?)

I picked up a degausser on ebay for about $25 a few months ago, it was used but it got the job done.
