Just in case anyone was wondering, while I was on a cruise last week my domain www.emumovies.com expired and was picked up by some junk domain company. I am working with my service provider to see if they can get it back. These guys are just straight up snakes as they want me to pay $200 to get my domain back. Hopefully the site will be back up and running soon, but I am not paying $200. I will post here when there is a change in status, but I do not intend to let it die.
Since my email and everything else is down also, anyone who would like to contact me can do so at circo0@yahoo.com
UPDATE*** The site is now back up at it's old address emumovies.com. I won woohoo!

bah, sorry to hear that :(

Yeah and so far it is not sounding good, they did send me renewal emails but my spam filter on yahoo grabbed them. So I may not have any recourse and paying $200 for something that is already an expense with no way to generate revenue is just distasteful to me. So I am not sure what is going to happen. I have learned much in my 1 year of having a website, and the new lesson is register a site for a minimum of 5 years. It seems that this company www.enom.com had put themselves on a waiting list and the second that it expired they grabbed it up. It doesn't seem right but it is perfectly legal.
Hopefully emumovies will be able to return, but at this point the future of the site is questionable.
Damn frustrating!

I'll chip in some loot if you decide to go for it.
emmumovies has served a great purpose! How about rallying the community?
-
good idea but those ---daisies--- still win, see if you can get it back without that first ;D

Those enom.com clowns host a domain for a company I work with.
I'm in the IT department, but the marketing people just called in a web designer and went behind our backs to get the site up.
I've haven't really cared one way or the other up to now - the site was running and didn't cause me any headaches - but hearing this news I've decided to pull our site and have it hosted elsewhere.
It's little comfort, but losing our business is gonna cost them more than the $200 they'd be stealing from you.

Screw that...register a new domain that's close to it.
I see emumovies.org is available...

Yep thats because I just purchased emumovies.net for the next 5 years. Screw those guys, I will have the website back up asap!
Nothing like starting over grrrrr!!!!!!!! :troll:

You're not starting over; everything should already be on the server, yes? Just make the appropriate changes where you need to (in your sig if you advertise, resubmit to Google, an announcement on MameWorld (when they're back online)) and you should be golden.

w00t!
The transaction isn't completed yet but it looks like I have reclaimed emumovies.com. I will know for sure by the end of today but enom is releasing it back to namecheap.com so that I can get it back. I am trying to get namecheap to cancel emumovies.net and transfer that to emumovies.com but worse case scenario will be that I will have both and forward .net to .com.

Circo,
I was trying to find the SNES intro videos on [romsite name redacted] but couldn't find them. Are they posted somewhere else? Thanks.

He tends to post the Nintendo stuff at various locations. SNES is at [romsite name redacted]. [romsite name redacted] does not all any Nintendo torrents.
