Hi,
I have a MsPacman in a generic case with a 3rd party marquee (read cheap) that has died. I wasn't there at the time but was told that when it was plugged in the monitor flashed then went blank. The monitor did have "issues" prior to its demise, the edges were wavy. I have since gutted it for the coin door and 19" monitor with the hopes of resurrecting the monitor.
The monitor tube is a Samsung model #510UXB22 and the chassis is labeled
J-TRON Model 1901.
I am hoping that a cap kit of some sort will fix the monitor and then I plan on using it in a mame cocktail cabinet. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry

I've never heard of that brand/model monitor. A capkit would be a good place to start, but I don't think you'll find one for that one. Zanen Electronics will assemble a kit if you send them a schematic though. Bad capacitors can cause the monitor to falsely shutdown intermittently (or more often). It would be a good idea to also inspect the monitor chassis for bad solder joints.

Thanks Ken,
I don't have a schematic so I can't go down that road.
How about buying a new chassis? Is that too specific to the
tube or would I be able to match something?
Thanks again.
