Thats nicer than some bars I have been to! I might even pay a cover charge.
On the other hand, the oscillating fan looks out of place.

Nobody's commented on the urinal yet...
I love it. No more piss on the toilet seat when all the boys come over.

With enough pints, I can miss the urinal.

I was just looking at that exact sink at Lowe's yesterday. Man, that thing wasn't any better than a salad bowl... talk about nonpractical in almost every way.
Great woodwork, though. I'd like to know how one does those shelves without losing like a foot of room width.

Can you say "after hours club"??
Actually, this basement is really cool, until you find out the guy has no friends to invite over. Then it's just really sad.
;D
-
He posted those pics to get friends.

Once again I go to my great "That's an awesome setup he's got, BUT" remark.
it's in Ohio! ::)

Nothing wrong with Ohio.

it's in Ohio! ::)
How'd you know? I looked around at his posts but didn't see a location.
-
Well I don't know for certain. But since he is posting it on the SW Ohio VW discussion forums, then I think that would make the most bit of sense.
Although on second look - his username is NY Pete. So I could be wrong.

he does have a friend, his name is Todd

Nice.
No basements in florida either. (well almost none) Too close to sea level. When you dig down 2 feet and get water, probably would have a swimming pool instead of a basement. :(
-
few basements in california too. We're just to lazy to dig ;D
-
Anyone else notice that picture of his wife is bordering on man-dom? Oh...geez, even turning up the brightness made it worse in some ways. Where's the smiley for a disgusted shiver?
-
Judging from his sig, he is in Cincinnati: '71 Monte Carlo - keeping pro touring alive in the 'nati

I noticed that when I was thinking of moving there. Is there a real reason for that? Ground too rocky? Earthquakes cause basement cave-ins? ;)
-
Basements are almost always found in areas with a variable climate. They usually are made of rebar-reinforced concrete and are built to help ancor the house to the ground. During the season change the ground will expand or contract (depending on which season change). Even though it's a very small amount, this constant expanding and contracting will eventually make an unstable foundation unless the foundation gets ancored below the frost line.
Areas where there isn't so much of a climate change, a basement is a novelty only. Fortunately for us new englanders, since a basement is essentially required, it is not added onto the square footage of the house which brings down the house price (so I've been told.. I didn't notice a difference when I bought my house, but whatever).

I'm finishing my basement this summer. What I really need to know is, how long will an open keg of beer last until it skunks? I always figured I couldn't put taps in because it would take too long to go through a keg, or even half keg. This guy has three taps. Now, of course they're mounted on the wall, so maybe they're just decoration. It would be easy to run lines to it from anywhere, and he does have the draught glasses frosting right below the taps. So maybe it is real.
I always thought that you pretty much had to finish an open keg that night... or maybe that was just an excuse to drink the whole keg when we were in uni.
-
You have to finish the keg before it WARMS. Not because it skunks right away.
-
I like their specials!

I have a kegerator in my basement and on average I drink about 95% of the kegs. I buy 1/4 bbl kegs (8 gallons) and I typically finish a keg in 4-6 weeks. There isn't too much change in taste after 6 weeks, but much longer than that you'll start to notice a difference. One time a friend bought me a 1/2 bbl and it took me over 2 months to finish it and it was skunky by the end and I ended up getting a new keg before I finished it.

That basement has a great setup:
