OK ... I goofed , whats is worse , I goofed with someone elses money :lame:
I have missed something... I bought a MSI pm8m-v
mother board. here

Problem. Case With power supply has 24 pins
Mother board has 20 pins :dizzy:
Never seen this type of plug in ( 20 pin)
What type of power supply do I need? Will it fit this case?
Or should I buy another case?

Newer motherboards have 24 pins which is why newer powersupplies have 24 pins. Most 24 pin power supplies I've seen have it so you can detach the extra 4 pins, if thats not the case with your power supply then it should still fit on your motherboard, just let the extra pins overhang.
I'll now explain which ones are the extra pins if they're not marked. Hold the cord of the powersupply cable so that the pins are facing away from you and the clip is facing down, the four pins on the right side are the ones you don't need. I hope that makes sense.

HA HA wait why am I laughing I did the same thing last Friday. My new case has 24p and my motherboard has 20p I have not checked but Atom said the last four pins detach on most new powersupply. But if yours don't most well stocked stores carry 24p to 20p converter cables.

I got time to look at my new PS and it does have the break-away 4pins I didn't even notice it the first time I looked at it I just spent the time thinking to my self WTF am I going to do about this. I took some pics.

Yep, and NICE older athlon boards and most new A64 boards use that plug, as well as the 24 pin..
Just plug it in, itll latch if the peice dont detatch, those extra plugs wont effect the main 20 pin layout :)

Whew! I was crapping bricks!
4 pins came right off.
got the best up and running today.
windows xp
drivers installed and smoke testing over night now.

I looked at a new Motherboard today. 24 pins
the seller was selling 20 pin ATX power supplies :soapbox:
