I recently wired my arcade controls to a Playstation controller so I could use adapters to play MAME, Dreamcast, PS, etc.
I seem to be getting a slight delay on the Dreamcast controls. I haven't tested MAME much so I am not sure about the delay on there.
Has anyone else seen this?

I think I've read that some PS>console/usb adaptors do have this delay problem (and some others do not).
I *think* it was mentioned in some recent Dreamcast related thread(s)...Snaaake or Dave_K maybe??

Hey Brad,
Could you elaborate a bit? You have Arcade controls -> PSX Pad -> USB Adapter -> MAME? Or is it Arcade -> PSX Pad -> DC Adapter -> Dreamcast? I guess I'm just confused.
In anycase, there are known problems with wiring them up console pads and arcade controllers simultaneously, even if one is powered off. Would this apply?
If you're using a USB adapter do you know which one it is? Certain PSX USB adapters have some inherent lag to them, others are okay.

Hey,
I am using:
Arcade > wired to PS1 > DC Converter > Dreamcast
and
Arcade > wired to PS1 > USB Converter > PC/MAME
I am doing both, but I am seeing the delay on the Dreamcast. My USB converter for MAME seems ok. I tried 2 different PS>DC adapters, but they are pretty old. Maybe I should try to get a new one. I need one that holds a VMU anyway.
I should also point out I have been using these converters for a long time on the DC normally and never had a problem with delay.

I read through the Dreamcast posts and I didn't see anything on controller delay. I hooked up a normal PS controller to the DC with converter and the delay was gone.
I guess I will try hooking up a Playstation so I can plug- my Arcade>PS controls in directly and see if I get delay there.
In the meantime if someone has any other ideas that would be great. I rewired my whole cabinet for my consoles and now I have this weird issue.

Hmm..how much a delay are you talking about? The only problam I've herd of with regards to a delay was Snake's attempt at wiring both ipac and psx/dc pads through a switchbox. I believe the grounding was to blame there. Check your grounds and make sure they aren't going anywhere other than the hacked PSX pads.

Hm, I'm at a loss. I do the same thing as Brad and have no problems. For what it's worth, I use the Innovation DreamConnect II (http://www.innovation1.com) adapters for the DC connection. Good luck.

What brand of controller did you use? I used some blockbuster knock off brand. Got them 2 for $3.00, It looks very similar to this:

Is there controllers that work better than others? I mean outside of just being easier to solder.
