Okay....did some searching (here and Google) to no avail, but I figure if anyone can do this, they hang out here.
I currently have MAMEwah launching from a shell as to avoid as much computer look as I can....even got it exiting to a desktop with the escape key.
I also have an intro movie in MAMEwah which I would like the ability to stop and enter directly into the MAMEwah interface with the press of a button (or a hotkey.)
I think this has to be done through the ctrlr file, but not really sure if there's a command to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this would pretty much finish off the software portion of my cab.

Sorry but there is currently no way to skip the movie.

Minwah, not sure if you formally track feature requests or anything, but I'd like to second the request for a 'movie interupt function' as a future feature if you ever do a new release. The movie is cool for most times when you have guests, but when you are booting up the Mamewah for the thirteenth time in a day it gets old.

I know when I added the intro movie feature I knew this 'skip' function would be handy. However I also know that I didn't add it, basically as it was more tricky than it seems.
However I'll add it to my todo list...just note that for the moment I'm not really considering this a priority :-\

I have to ask, only because you mentioned it :hissy:, what exactly are the priorities?

GIRLS, BOOZ, and STRIP ARCADE?

Better trust minwah on this one, it's much harder to do then you would think. I had that option in dk early on and it turned out to be "breaking" a lot of other things, causing some systems to crash. I ended up having to take out the option.
The solution I found was to check to see if a key is pressed before running the movie routine. So bascially you can't skip a movie once it's started, but if you are holding down a key during bootup it'll skip it. You might wanna try fixing it that way, saves a lot of headaches.

Basically fixing some bugs (I seem to have 8 or 9 atm) and adding one or two new features (you probably know which ones ;) )
However real life is taking most of my time at the mo and since my cab is not at my home motivation is dwindling a little bit. Hopefully when summer arrives I'll take my cab apart and transport it to my new abode 8)
