Ok - so what would the best type of paint be to use as we create our marquee? We're painting on plexiglass and someone had told us acrylic...but when we tried it on a sample section, our gold paint looked black shining light through it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I think it will be next to impossible to make a painted marquee to look good. Even if you could find the right paints to light up and look like you want you would be able to see every brush stroke and thickness difference.

If you're painting it on the back, which I presume you are, the guy that made the Leon CP had great success with model paints. Do a search and he gives you a step by step on his website.

What I would do is use the same paints theu paint RC car bodies with. They paint the inside of the bodies to make em last and the paint looks and holds great. Any local hobby should should have it. The car bodies are polycarb (lexan) but it should stick to acryllic too.

How did this go? Any success, or did you scrap the idea of painting the marquee?
